A Heartfelt Thank You to Lancashire Mounted Police for Their Generous Donation
We would like to say a huge Thank You to our friends at Lancashire Mounted Police, and their community of supporters, for raising an incredible £3,270.80 for The Horse Trust. This generous contribution was made possible through their Mounted Calendar ‘Lancashire Police Horses 2024’ sale, marking their first year back at this community-favourite feature after a long break. The success of the calendar sale will work wonders in helping our herd, including some of their very own former police horses!
The relationship between The Horse Trust and Lancashire Constabulary means a great deal to us. Over the years, we have welcomed many of their wonderful horses into a peaceful and caring retirement here in the Chilterns. When the time comes for these horses to step down from their duties, we’re proud to offer them a space where they can enjoy a well-deserved slower pace of life.
The funds raised by Lancashire Constabulary and their many loving supporters in Lancashire will directly benefit the care of our beloved residents, including some familiar faces from the Lancashire force. Our towering four-legged friends from the north spent years protecting the community in Lancashire, and thanks to the continued support of the public, we can ensure that they continue to receive the best possible care.
Meet them here!
Lancashire Constabulary have a rich history of service, using their skilled horses to maintain public safety, support community events, and engage with the public. Their Mounted Branch is quite the social media sensation too, with a huge following of adoring friends and fans.
The constabulary’s dedication to their horses, even after they have retired, highlights the deep friendship they share. The success of their calendar reflects the strong relationship between Lancashire, their community, and our organisations (despite our 202.4 mile-gap!).
A heartfelt thanks once again to the constabulary, and your amazing supporters!

We rely entirely on public funding to support the horses in our care.
Costing upwards of £7,500 per horse per year, your help is integral to our work. Thank you.
