Seven-year-old Raises a Fantastic £730 for The Horse Trust!

William’s Run for The Horse Trust

7 year old William has raised an incredible £730 for The Horse Trust!

After a visit to our stand at Royal Windsor Horse Show and inspired by going to watch the London Marathon last month, seven-year-old William Gordon Smith wanted to do something that combined both interests. So he decided to put together a Just Giving page and run an impressive 7 miles from Southbourne to Sandbanks, the full length of the Dorset beach, to raise money for our Home of Rest for Horses.

For moral support, he ran with our flopsy pony, who he named Billy Marmite, on his back, and even decorated his own t-shirt. He completed the run in just under an hour and a half. His mum reports that walking up and down the stairs afterwards proved slightly painful!

His Just Giving page has reached an incredible £730 and counting! We can’t thank William enough for his generous gesture of kindness towards our equine friends, and a huge thank you to each person who donated to William’s fundraiser.

Every little donation adds up, and acts of kindness like William’s are always a wonderful reminder of the goodness of people.

If you would like to donate to William’s page, it’s not too late and you can still donate here or via the button below.
