Thames Valley Titan
One of the highlights of Blenheim for The Horse Trust was the retirement of 16 year old Thames Valley Police Horse Titan in the Main Arena.
18.3hh Shire Cross Titan who weighs in at just under a tonne and is one of the biggest police horses in the country. After 9 years of brave and loyal service this gentle giant has been on extended respite at our Home of Rest for Horses, suffering from a severe case of Ringbone. Sadly after months of respite and many veterinary checks the decision was made that it would not be in Titan’s best interest to return him to work. Titan has now retired permanently to the Horse Trust’s Home of Rest for Horses where he will spend the rest of his days relaxing in the Chiltern Hills.
We were delighted that Alice Plunkett, a star of channel 4 racing, and wife of Blenheim winner William Fox Pitt, generously gave her time once again to deliver a moving commentary to accompany Titan’s retirement. We would like to say a huge thank you to His Grace The Duke of Marlborough, the Fidelity Blenheim International Horse Trials, Alice Plunkett and the Thames Valley Police for their support.
