Introducing Valentine
Please join us in welcoming our latest retiree, Valentine who arrived from New Yatt RDA (Riding for the Disabled) and has just started settling into a new, relaxing life here at The Horse Trust.
Valentine spent 6 of his 24 years at the RDA and was actively involved with all aspects of teaching riding and horse care to many students, including being ridden by children with varying disabilities.
After a fantastic career of helping people, Valentine began showing behaviours that indicated he needed a change in his day-to-day life. So it was decided he would spend his retirement at The Horse Trust where he can enjoy a relaxing life alongside our other residents.
The RDA are a charity committed to providing life changing experiences for children and adults with physical and learning difficulties. They achieve this through a variety of activities and by bringing the therapeutic and health benefits of horses to people across the UK. In fact, a large proportion of the participants are recommended to the RDA by a medical professional.
The horses they own are all specially selected for their kind nature, politeness and adaptability and when the time and their job is done, some are brought to The Horse Trust for a well-earned rest.
