Welcome, Jupiter!
We’re delighted to welcome another new resident through our stable doors, the very handsome Jupiter!
18-year old Jupiter (centre in the above photo), joins us after serving for over 12 years in The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment Blues and Royals.
Prior to his arrival at The Horse Trust, Jupiter had been in consistent work, fulfilling ceremonial duties and daily riding tasks at HC Blues and Royals. He was a well-liked horse and took part in The Queen’s Life Guard and ceremonial parades, always being one of the horses to set an example of a typical cavalry black.
Jupiter was on parade for many of the most important parades of the last ten years including the Diamond Jubilee Parade, both Royal Wedding Parades, Trooping the Colour every year since he finished training 12 years ago as well as the State Opening of Parliament, Lord Mayor’s Parade and State Visit Parades for foreign dignitaries in both London and Windsor.
He has been used as a confident band horse and even completed many Kit rides to help pass out new trainees to the regiment.
Jupiter is described as having a good temperament both in the stable and whilst riding and we cannot wait to get to know him more over the coming weeks while he settles into life at The Horse Trust.
