Welcome, Empress!
We’re excited to introduce the newest resident through our stable doors, the incredibly beautiful Empress.
Empress is a 23-year-old, 17.2hh black Irish Sport Horse. She retires to us after having had a full working ceremonial career serving the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.
This stunning mare performed State Ceremonial work at many events including; The Queen’s Birthday parade with the RHG/D regiment as a charger, The Queen’s birthday parade as Centre horse for Household Division stables, State Opening of Parliament, State Visits, The Queen’s Life Guard, Royal Weddings and the Diamond Jubilee.
Empress has been settling into her retirement nicely, forming a close bond with new field mates and fellow military retirees, Yeti and Union. She’s also proving very popular with our grooms, enjoying all the attention she can get!
We think she is more than deserving of her well-earned retirement and we can’t wait to learn more about her as she settles in.
