The Horse Trust are ready to help lighten shoppers’ loads at Horse of the Year Show
“The World’s Most Famous Horse Show” has teamed up with “The World’s Oldest Horse Charity” to help lighten the load for shoppers at this year’s Horse of the Year Show (HOYS). The Horse Trust will run the Bag Drop in the Retail Village when the show returns to Birmingham’s NEC from 6th – 9th October 2016.
HOYS is home to the ultimate equestrian event shopping experience with over 250 trade stands. The world famous Retail Village offers everything from equestrian clothing and equipment to unique gifts and gourmet food. With the inevitable accumulation of shopping bags, visitors can leave their purchases at the Bag Drop for the duration of their stay. It costs just £1.50 a time, £1 of which will be donated directly to The Horse Trust in support of its excellent work.
Since its establishment in 1886, The Horse Trust has helped to improve the health and welfare of Britain’s hardest working horses across the ages; from Victorian cab horses, to the war horses of World War One and pit ponies of the 20th century. Today, we work to improve the lives of all horses and ponies. At our Home of Rest for Horses, we specialises in providing a dignified retirement for working police and military horses, and a sanctuary for horses, ponies and donkeys who have suffered from neglect or cruelty. Our team works closely with the British Government, vets and welfare charities to improve horse welfare across the country. It is also a leading funder of ethical equine veterinary research.
The Bag Drop will be situated on the way to the Andrews Bowen International Arena, enabling visitors to store their bags and watch all of the HOYS action in comfort.
Jeanette Allen, Chief Executive of The Horse Trust, said: “The Horse Trust is delighted to be working with Horse of the Year Show for the third year running. It is wonderful to be part of such a prestigious event. We are grateful for its support and look forward to meeting many visitors at this year’s Bag Drop.”
