Shocking Sudden Loss: Rest in Peace Red
It is with a heavy heart that we tell you of a very sudden and sad loss. Little Red who was rescued from Spindles Farm in 2008, along with 100 other horses, ponies and donkeys, an horrific place where the living were foraging for food amongst the 30 ponies that had already died, has passed away.
Red was 20 years old and a little fighter, he had recently recovered from a severe tendon injury when he had a random accident and hit his head, dying instantly. At least he had some very happy weeks back out on the spring grass, running with the herd before leaving us so suddenly. This little cracker was such a hit with visitors and staff alike, always enjoying a fuss on the yard and especially running across the big fields with his friends.
We know he didn’t suffer but he has left behind a lot of tears and sadness. Run free little man, it always was your favourite thing in the world. We are just so happy that you had seven wonderful years with us after your terrible ordeal but your stable seems very empty now, you were a very precious lad indeed.
