ELLIE

Ellie arrived here at The Horse Trust in April 2018 after retiring from Crosby Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) in Liverpool.

  Ellie worked at the RDA for 13 years undertaking up to 15 rides per week with disabled riders.  She worked both on and off the lead rein. She was able to adapt to many different riders with a wide range of physical disabilities such as paraplegia and cerebral palsy, to those with challenging behaviour, and those with sight and hearing impairments.  She has also been ridden by her able bodied ‘carers’ for exercise and to benefit her mentally and physically to fulfil her role as an RDA horse.

Ellie has given numerous riders confidence and therapeutic exercise and enjoyment. She also competed at the RDA regional and National Championships.
