Harry Hall has been helping equestrians for over 130 years. Through thick and thin they’ve been there, but boy was 2020 was a year none of us will forget. The world went into lockdown, and at times, it felt like life was on hold. Everything was cancelled, from the Olympics to local horse shows. All their plans, dreams and goals put on hold, set-aside or disappeared completely. As equestrians, Harry Hall is used to adapting and overcoming the many challenges that life throws at us, but this was something else, this was a line of fences that no one could jump over. Yet amongst all the changes and challenges, their love for horses remained. They have kept them busy, helped them get through every day, and helped them get to today, where brighter days lie ahead. Harry Hall is inspired by you, here for you and trusted by you. And they’re still riding.

Here’s a little overview of the wonderful history Harry Hall has. Similar to us at The Horse Trust, they’ve been here for over 130 years.

Early years

Way back in the 1870s, a young man named Harry Hall began his career as a tailor (and he was rather good at it). In 1891 he started his own business, “Harry Hall Esq” a bootmaker and tailor – and so the story begins. After World War II, horses became animals of pleasure and leisure, instead of being a workhorse or a warhorse. So Harry Hall Esq turned its focus to equestrian clothing as horse riding became a popular pastime. By the Swinging Sixties, the international equestrian elite were all dressed in Harry Hall – even the stables regiment at Buckingham Palace. Harry Hall had well and truly arrived on the equestrian scene.

Today

Fast forward to today, and the Harry Hall team continue to work with the same dedication and passion shown by the great man himself by offering more than bespoke riding clothing and jodhpurs boots. They’ve evolved to offer affordable everyday rider and horse wear plus insurance products and membership to the Harry Hall One Club. The Club provides members with an online community that supports one another through the ups and downs of horse riding and horse ownership while providing public liability and personal accident cover. There are also great member benefits and discounts on lifestyle and equestrian brands, monthly competitions and free members’ magazine twice a year.

Today’s riders require more from their clothing, their reliable, quality-made garments continue to be fashionable yet definitely more practical!
