After two years in the making, we were thrilled to unveil our striking new memorial sculpture honouring our much loved former resident Uncle George. It was an incredibly emotional day which brought together the many supporters who loved and knew him, including his equine friends Briar and Teddy!

Artist Ron Lawson, who was commissioned to create the piece, said he was: ‘incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet Uncle George before his passing, making the creative process even more special for him.’ Ron, is a leading equine painter and sculptor, whose works can be seen across the UK and we are thrilled to have one of his sculptures now residing here at The Horse Trust.

Below are some photos of the sculpture on the day of the big reveal:

Thanks to all who attended the unveiling to celebrate this special little pony who touched the hearts of so many. We are so pleased that Uncle George will now have a permanent place for all our visitors to enjoy.
