Run Free, Zepce
We are deeply saddened to have to announce the passing of our gorgeous 29 year old mare, Zepce, fondly known as Zippy.
This beautiful mare had a long and successful career as a trooper with The Blues and Royals Squadron; she was a regular on Queens Life Guard duties, guarding the entrance to Buckingham Palace. Zippy additionally took part in numerous Ceremonial Parades such as Queen Elizabeth II Birthday Parade, The Diamond Jubilee and the Royal Wedding of The Prince and Princess of Wales.
Zepce, settled superbly into retired life and loved nothing more than grazing in the fields with her friends, particularly best friend Pollyanna, not letting her arthritis slow her down for many happy years.
Sadly, this sweet girl started to become quite wobbly on her feet. Despite treatment and close monitoring by our dedicated veterinary care team, we didn’t see any improvement and the kindest thing was to let her go knowing that she has had a life and retirement that was filled with the highest quality care in the best possible environment.
You’ve left hoofprints on our hearts, we will always remember you, Zepce.
