ODIN

Odin spent nine years in the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) and has taken part in all major parades.

He was ridden at the Royal Weddings of William & Kate and Harry & Meghan, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee parades, the late Queen’s funeral and the Coronation of King Charles lll. He was also a regular at Trooping the Colour, the State opening of Parliament, as well as being on countless Queen’s, and now King’s Life Guards. He could be ridden in any position on a parade including the band, showing his dependability.

Odin struggles to have his feet lifted, which made picking out his feet regularly and the routine farriery required for military working horses, tricky! He also has an odd gait generally, and although no diagnosis has ever been established, he was identified for retirement by the Household Cavalry. A gentle giant, standing at 17.2hh, Odin loves nothing more than fuss and attention; he will definitely get plenty throughout his retirement here with us!
