Longbow Retired
Longbow, a beautiful black mare, retired to our Home of Rest for Horses after an impressive career. Known for her free spirit, Longbow is happiest when out in the pastures with her friends, enjoying the fresh air and countryside. Her closest companion is Kimberly, another ex-Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) horse, with whom she shares a special bond. Reunited once more, they bring each other great comfort and joy.
Longbow is self-assured and headstrong, knowing exactly what she wants. Beneath her bravado, she has a soft and sensitive soul, and she loves company. Her temperament and strong will have always set her apart.
Throughout her service, Longbow mainly participated in The Queen’s, now The King’s Life Guard. Her energetic spirit always posed a welcome challenge for some of HCMR’s more experienced riders! She had an incredible talent for show jumping which was showcased during military show jumping events, where her abilities truly shone through.
Due to age-related medical concerns and her temperament, it was decided best to take Longbow out of ridden work. Now retired, Longbow can enjoy the peaceful and fulfilling life she is suited to, surrounded by her equine friends and the serene countryside she loves so much.
