JAIPUR

Jaipur spent 15 years in the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR), with his claim to fame being ‘bounciest trot in all the Life Guards Squadron’!

This lovable character was not only great at performing his duties with the HCMR, such as State Opening of Parliament, musical rides, Trooping the Colour, he was also a firm favourite for use in jumping competitions and placed first in the Senior and Junior Derby.

On retirement, the regiment said of him “Jaipur has served faithfully throughout the duration of his service. In his younger years Jaipur displayed how a horse can grasp the careful balance of athletic power and steadiness on parade. Be it on the hunt field or on the parade square at Horse Guards he fitted the role impeccably.”
