All three gentle giants served the public before retiring to the peaceful surroundings of our Home of Rest for Horses in the Chiltern Hills. Now, they’re ready to start their next chapter – and you can be part of it.

Meg

Elegant Windsor Grey Meg spent 15 years with the Royal Mews, pulling royal carriages at major state occasions. Gentle, graceful and reliable, she was trusted to lead the Gold State Coach during the King’s Coronation.

Max

A kind and steady Shire cross, Max served South Wales Police for an incredible 15 years. From royal visits to community patrols, Max was always a calm, brave and dependable presence – and even starred on TV!

Atlas

One of our largest residents, Atlas is a striking 18.2hh Shire horse who served with Thames Valley Police. Known for his bold presence and loveable personality, he attended some of the UK’s most high-profile events – including the Queen’s funeral and King’s Coronation.
