Introducing Serendipity
We’re delighted to introduce you to another new recruit here at The Horse Trust. Please meet 10-year old Serendipity (stable name Hades), formerly of The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery (KTRHA).
KTRHA is Her Majesty The Queen’s mounted ceremonial saluting battery. It’s primary duty is the firing of royal gun salutes to mark occasions of state including royal births, birthdays and anniversaries; state openings of Parliament; state visits; and state funerals.
Serendipity stands at 15.1hh and served as a wheeler in D Sub-Section’s gun team in KTRHA. He took part in many major events including the Queen’s birthday parades, royal salutes in Hyde Park and The Green Park, state visits, the Queen’s Life Guard and the Musical Drive of KTRHA at the Royal Windsor Horse Show and Royal Welsh Show.
He also has a claim to fame in that he participated in the filming of the Downtown Abbey movie!
Serendipity retires to us after close to ten years serving his country. We look forward to bringing you further updates on how he is settling in with us at The Horse Trust.
You can read his full profile here.
