Horses, Hounds and Heroes Family Fun Day 2013
Looking for something that extra bit special to do this Father’s Day? Then look no further than the Horses, Hounds and Heroes Family Fun Day which will be held at The Horse Trust’s Home of Rest for Horses in Speen, Buckinghamshire on Sunday 16th June from 11.00 am to 17.00 pm.
The Horse Trust, the oldest horse charity in the UK, is delighted to open its doors to the local community for this countryside themed, family fun day. Join us to celebrate the reopening of the new look Home of Rest for Horses and explore our new facilities.
Every penny raised will help us to care for our retired or rescued horses, ponies and donkey. There will be food, activities for the whole family, shopping opportunities and of course lots of animals! At the event we have special appearances by Defence Animal Centre’s Dog Display Team and Army Farriers; Thames Valley Police Mounted Section; the Light Cavalry; Saracen Feeds; Stokenchurch Dog Rescue, who will be running a Fun Dog Show with entries in categories such as Best Fancy Dress, Best Rescued and Waggiest Tail. Other activities include Ferret Racing, Horse Body Painting demonstrations, Pony Rides (over 5s only), Falconry Display, Archery with The Whiteleaf Bowmen, Face Painting and much, much more.
Entry to the event is only £2.50 per adult (under 16s free). This second annual event is will raise funds for The Horse Trust.
