Horses, Hounds and Heroes 2025: A Day to Remember
What a day it was! Horses, Hounds and Heroes 2025 was nothing short of spectacular. Thanks to your overwhelming support, we’re thrilled to share that we welcomed almost 2,000 visitors and raised an incredible £32,000 — all to help us continue providing a Home of Rest to our retired and rescued equine residents.
The event opened with a truly unforgettable moment as the skies above the Chiltern Hills were graced by a dramatic Lancaster Bomber flyover, courtesy of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight — a stirring start to a day filled with celebration, community spirit, and heartfelt gratitude.
From the moment our gates opened, the site was alive with excitement. Families, friends, and supporters of all ages enjoyed a vibrant mix of attractions, including tractor and carriage rides, Meet & Greets with horses from Thames Valley Police Mounted Branch, The Light Cavalry HAC, and our very own Horse Trust residents, as well as a packed schedule of arena performances.

Children delighted in face painting, fairground rides, and plenty of opportunities to get up close with some of the country’s most iconic horses. There truly was something for everyone.
Throughout the day, our visitors were treated to incredible displays from the Metropolitan Police Mounted Branch, Millets Falconry, and the British Tent Pegging Association, who brought the day to a thrilling close with our first-ever competitive tent pegging display — an exhilarating spectacle that rounded things off in style. Despite the heat, and with plenty of water buckets at the ready, each performance was met with cheers and appreciation from our wonderful guests.
We were also proud to announce our newest sponsor horse — Oliver — whose heartwarming story touched many. From his ceremonial retirement at HHH 2024 to his sponsor reveal at HHH 2025, we’re delighted to give this special boy the recognition he truly deserves. We can’t wait for supporters to get to know him and help provide for his care through sponsorship.
