Welcome Bowker, Kelbrook and Scooby!
We’re thrilled to introduce our new residents: Bowker, Kelbrook and Scooby – three incredible horses who’ve dedicated their lives to serving the public and are now beginning a new chapter in the beautiful Chiltern Hills.
Each of these handsome boys has brought courage, charm, and heaps character to their former careers, and we are honoured to give them the peaceful retirement they so deserve.

Meet Bowker
Bounding into retirement with the energy of a playful pup, Bowker joins us after six vibrant years with Lancashire Police. A striking chestnut gelding with a big personality, Bowker was a natural leader and crowd favourite at events like Lytham Festival and Remembrance Day parades. Now aged 10, he’s already making himself known as the spirited youngster of the herd.

Meet Kelbrook
Calm and quietly charismatic, Kelbrook served with Lancashire Police for an incredible 11 years. Famous for his “sunglasses” (protective goggles worn due to uveitis), this dependable piebald gelding won hearts at major public events, including US President Trump’s 2018 visit. Though a little reserved at first, Kelbrook’s softer side shines through – especially when he’s secretly enjoying field antics with Bowker.

Meet Scooby
Scooby, a striking Cob-Trotter cross from the City of London Police, is the perfect mix of laid-back and lovable. Known for his steady presence at high-profile events like Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral and the Lord Mayor’s Show, Scooby was also a brilliant teacher to new recruits. Now on box rest for a tendon injury, he’s taking full advantage of the slower life… unless there are treats involved – then he’s all ears.
