Samson is a towering grey gelding who arrived at The Horse Trust in January 2017 and stands at a majestic 18.2hh. Samson’s career began at a Falconry Centre in Hampshire, where he was ridden in bird of prey displays. After initial training with Thames Valley Police, he passed with flying colours and served faithfully at their Mounted Branch for five years. Samson quickly adapted to policing busy football matches and carrying out high-profile public reassurance patrols. Described as a big friendly giant, Samson is our utterly lovable Labrador-like resident, inseparable from his best pal, Alf.
