Police Horse, Urbane, Recovered and Back to Work!
Urbane, a police horse who was attacked by a dog in a public park in London, has returned to work following his successful recovery at our Home of Rest for Horses.
In his ordeal, Urbane received multiple wounds in the incident to his chest, torso, and legs. He spent four weeks recouping with us and certainly made an impression on our grooms and the rest of our team! Our Veterinary Director, Nicky, said she is going to miss giving him a scratch each morning before she starts her day.
Russell Pickin, our Director of Equine Care said:
He immediately settled in and became a firm favourite of all the grooms due to his wonderful character and nature .Urbane seemed to love his time here and integrated seamlessly with the other horses he shared his field with, and they too, very quickly grew to like him. It was an absolute pleasure to have Urbane with us and look after him during his respite and it was with sadness but very fond memories that we saw him walk up the ramp of the Police lorry ready to go back to his duties of serving London.
Urbane will be very welcome any time at The Horse Trust.
If you’ve been touched by Urbane’s story and want to contribute to helping more horses like him, please donate by clicking the button at the bottom of this page so we can continue to care for the horses and ponies that need it most.
