Sven was one of nine equines who was rescued from a small family business run as a community interest company hosting pony parties and claiming to provide equine-assisted therapy sessions for vulnerable people.

When Sven was rescued, he was found lying down and coughing. Initially, RSPCA inspectors were concerned that something was seriously wrong, but thankfully the coughing cleared quickly, and he got up and was moving about easily. Upon examination, Sven was found to have a serious louse infestation, and he was severely underweight.

Through a careful treatment plan, Sven slowly gained weight and he was treated with medicated shampoo to treat his itchy louse infestation.

Sven can be nervous to catch and is on a careful training plan to help him through these challenges. Sven gets a lot of confidence from his best friend, Olaf but when they are together, he is much better. He absolutely loves a good scratch, and also likes to have a roll when he gets fed. Despite Sven’s small size, he has the biggest of characters which is wonderful to see!
