LOXLEY
Loxley Working
Loxley Retired
Loxley is a 16.2hh bay gelding. This former police horse originally came from the Nottinghamshire Constabulary Mounted Unit, which unfortunately disbanded in 2012. Thankfully, this Irish Draught cross continued his working life when he transferred to Greater Manchester Police.
Loxley’s brave presence meant he was used to target crime hotspots and kept the public safe during football matches such as the infamous ‘Manchester Derby’. He also worked during demonstrations and community events like ‘The Caribbean Carnival’ and ‘Park Life’. Sadly, Loxley developed lameness which meant he was unable to carry out the work needed and has now settled for a quieter life here at The Horse Trust.
