Jezz Retired

Jezz retired to us from Beechley Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) in Liverpool, where she dedicated over 13 years supporting disabled riders and taking part in equine-assisted therapy.
A gentle and sociable Arab cross, Jezz was cherished by both volunteers and riders. During her remarkable career, she took part in weekly therapy sessions, riding lessons, and even helped vet students learn how to lunge and trot up a horse. She also represented Beechley RDA at regional and national competitions, including the RDA National Championships in 2015.
Jezz played a key role in hippotherapy sessions – a form of physical, occupational, and speech therapy that uses the horse’s movement to provide sensory input – and took part in special riding events at Aintree Racecourse in partnership with the Jockey Club.
She’s a curious character too, sometimes known for an unauthorised exit and a wander around the yard! Like many Beechley horses, she enjoyed the natural enrichment of nearby Calderstones Park and always got along well with other horses in the field.
Jezz retired following recovery from a tendon injury and is now enjoying a peaceful life in the Chiltern Hills with her new herd. We’re honoured to give this sweet, gentle mare the retirement she so richly deserves.
